This metric evaluates the number of violent crimes per 100,000 residents. Violent crime includes murder and nonnegligent manslaughter, robbery, aggravated assault and rape, which includes attempted rape, but does not count statutory rape. TN ranked 47th in 2018 and 48th in 2019.
